Where am I now ?

For anyone who has gotten my "out of office" email of late, and is wondering where I am... this is where, roughly.

Welcome to Malawi, in southeastern Africa.  Take a few minutes to learn about the country, which is stunningly diverse in it's people and landscape.

I will be working in a village in central west Malawi, so I am not sure how much I will be seeing, although I already know I would like to come back and visit the ground breaking Majete Wildlife Preserve managed by the awesome African Parks non profit, of the famed Malawian 500 Elephants on the Move project which is another amazing story work watching.  I have become even more fascinated with elephants since cycling past wild ones in Zambia, Botswana and Namibia this past May, and facing a wild one very close on his terms, certainly not mine.

I hope to come back to visit Majete Reserve, the Mushroom Farm Eco Lodge on the Rift Valley, spend a lot of time at Lake Malawi on Domwe or Mumbo Island and more!

But this trip I will get to stay with families in Kangoma and be among Malawains, which I am looking forwards to very much.

We should all be deeply fascinated and dedicated to protecting these intelligent and wise animals who are close to us in their familial ties, memories and problem solving.
