Professional CV

Julianne Snow Gauron is a full-time freelance photographer, explorer and naturalist based in the Boston area. In addition to photography, she is a documentary director and videographer through her media company, Snow on the Road.

With more than a decade as an industrial designer, she brings unique research, strategy, and storytelling abilities to her visual work.

Partners include non-profits, publications and purpose driven brands seeking to tell clear and impactful visual narratives. With her background, she supports clients in clarifying organizational DNA and goals, overall messaging, pre-production, execution of the shoot, and post-production.

Her narrative photography and video generally focuses on themes of human connection, or disconnection, with the natural world and each other. Primarily using natural light to capture real moments, Julianne believes truthful visual storytelling is a critical tool for building connection, empathy, and catalyzing social change.

Julianne’s work has been published in major print media and directed the award-winning documentary short film series, Dear Senator.

She has lived in India, the Marshall Islands, England, Ireland and Italy, and travels widely for work and pleasure. When she is not working can be found in nature with her animals.

Services

  • I’m a freelance photographer and love partnering with clients on projects of all sizes. Whether you need updated headshots or a full visual narrative to support your nonprofit or brand’s goals across web and social, we’ll scope the project to align with your vision, budget, and impact.

  • I also create short-form video content for web and social as a one-person crew. This nimble approach keeps budgets lean while still capturing meaningful, high-quality work in the field.

  • I’m a filmmaker and director drawn to stories rooted in real emotion, human connection, and the natural world. I approach each project with curiosity and empathy, crafting films that feel honest, grounded, and deeply human. Blending thoughtful strategy with a character-first lens, I create work that resonates—visually rich, purpose-driven, and made to last.

  • With a background in design and brand strategy, I’m uniquely positioned to support your team in laying the groundwork for strong visual storytelling—whether in photography or film. I work with your team directly, helping pull out your goals and shape the project scope so the creative feels aligned, intentional, and impactful from the start.

  • Hi, I’m Julianne. I run Snow on the Road, my media company. When I started out as a creative, I didn’t want to get stuck on finding the “perfect” name. Snow is my middle name, and I’m passionate about nature and travel— close to home and around the world—so Snow on the Road felt right.

  • I’m dedicated to creating natural, authentic visuals that meet the needs of a range of clients—from individuals to nonprofits and brands. I’d love to connect and hear what you’re envisioning, or help you clarify your vision. Reach out and let’s chat.

  • Need to update your LinkedIn, create a school portrait that truly reflects who you are, or high quality photographs for another purpose? I’d love to help. We can keep it classic with traditional portraits or create something more personal with an environmental session in a place where you feel most at ease.

  • Absolutely. I am based just outside of Boston, and am experienced working in the field and happy to travel around New England or Internationally with clients.
