Conservation Law Foundation, “New England is Vulnerable to Climate Change“ - Film Direction

New England is extremely vulnerable to climate change, and increasing extreme weather puts us all at increased risks. The health of the planet is directly connected to the health of the people, and the most vulnerable are at increasing risk. The Conservation Law Foundation has spent decades building lasting solutions to the most pressing environmental issues through legislation. Although not always evident on the front lines of protests, CLF is working behind the scenes for us all, and has won many of our most critical changes gaining New Englanders cleaner air, water, energy and climate futures. They continue to work in every state in the region for all New Englanders today and in the future.

We came together at the Windy Films Studio in East Boston to shoot this piece highlighting the work of CLF, and the often unspoken aspect of health impacts to the most vulnerable. I worked with the CLF media team, and Windy Films in the months leading up to the shoot to identify a team of experts to speak for CLF on the importance of Climate from a new perspective, interviewed each character and wrote out the script and interview questions. On the day of the shoot we ran through the interview aiming to highlight each characters area of expertise in concise energetic clips, with the aim of connecting to an audience who previously may not have seen Climate Change as relevant to them.
